The Fusion of Hip-Hop and Improv Comedy

BEATBOX is a critically acclaimed show created by Zach Ward and Rene Duquesnoy in Chicago (2002). The show fuses fast-paced longform improv and classic hip-hop. Scenes are cut, mixed, and transformed by freestyling improvisers and a Human Beatbox. BEATBOX opens with a freestyle spin off a single suggestion, features battle raps, scratched scenes, samples, and ends in a rap jam inspired by the world of characters created for that show.
