Katie Shutrump
Katie fell in love with improv her freshman year as a Theatre major at Berry College in Rome, GA. With ten years of traditional theater under her belt and some pretty discouraging improv experiences in the past, she never thought it would reenter her life, let alone become her passion.
After 3 years of performing with Easy Baked Improv, she and fellow EasyBaker Becky Whittemore decided to move to Carrboro to study at DSI in the fall of 2006. She fell in love with the town and the community DSI was building while attending DSIF each year.
Katie has studied under Zach Ward, Jason Scott Quinn and Jeremy Griffin and has workshopped with Kevin Patrick Robbins, Asaf Ronen, Dan Izzo, and Jill Bernard.
Katie currently plays with ComedySportz, Dirty Games, ELAINE, War on Hugs and Crush.
