Corey Brown
Corey Brown is an instructor with the DSI Comedy Theater
Corey was born in Erie PA, but was raised in Chapel Hill NC. Corey started his improv career with Comedy Sportz Chapel Hill. During his time with CSz he studied under Ross White, Anthony King and Zach Ward. After leaving CSz he founded his own troupe at East Carolina University named The Swash. The group is still alive today.
Corey is presently performing in the Mister Diplomat show and serving as the Director of Comedy Sportz Chapel Hill.
Corey has played at the UCBT during the Del Close Marathon with Mister Diplomat. He also has been a core member of the 24 live marathon held yearly in Chapel Hill, as well as been a part of DSIF many times.
Corey teaches levels 1 through 3 for DSI. He has instructed Comedy Sportz workshops, done coaching for the local high school improv teams, led The Swash, and taught various workshops for groups over the years. Corey has also been a fill in coach for DSI’s house teams when needed.
Corey has studied or taken workshops from Bob Dassie, Billy Merrit, Michael Delany, Dan Izzo, Scott Jennings, Zach Ward, Ross White, Porter Mason, Dan Goldstein, Asaf Ronen, Jeff Griggs, Eric Hunicutt, and Jill Bernard, and continues to grow as an improvisor.
