Colette Henderson is a resident instructor with the DSI Comedy Theater

Colette Henderson grew up loving comedy and is delighted to be onstage creating her own. Born in Boston, she grew up in Chapel Hill. From age 8 through high school, she was a competitive horseback rider and taught riding at Springforth Farm in Durham. After spending a year in the wilds of Virginia at the University of Mary Washington, she's glad to be back in Chapel Hill, and is planning to graduate with an elementary education degree from UNC in December of 2009.

She began her improv studies in the summer of 2005 with Zach Ward, and has since studied with Jeremy Griffin, Austin Nava, Callie Peck and Paula Pazderka. She has workshopped with Joe Bill, Rene Duquesnoy, Anthony King, Anthony LeBlanc, Kevin Patrick Robbins, Asaf Ronen and Jane Borden. She was a member of the all-female ensemble Elaine as well as Comedy Sportz. She now performs Improv Slam regularly and sometimes can be found impersonating Diane Rehm or Kirsten Dunst in Match Game.

In addition, Colette enjoys working with kids and hanging out with her improviser boyfriend, Bryan Barnes.
