Carolyn has been performing improv at DSI since November 2012. She considers herself to be one of the 'most improbable' improvisers.

Carolyn began learning improv in 2011, inspired by a friend who showed her 'the way of improv.' Since then, learning has been a comedy in itself, something akin to a non-stop maniacal ride.

At DSI Carolyn studied under Paula Pazderka, Vinny Valdivia, and Katy Jack. To further her improv skills, along with shedding her more serious side, Carolyn immersed herself in intensive workshops at Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB-NYC) and The ImprovOlympic (iO, Chicago). She took classes from Dan Sipp and Anoo Brod (Transactors), Jason Tyne-Zimmerman (Burning Coal Theatre), and J Chachula (Flying Machine Theatre Studio - Meisner).

Full disclosure: Carolyn both confesses and acknowledges the contributions of major TV sitcoms in her childhood to her early comedic development.

Carolyn lives in Chapel Hill since forever and is delighted to be a part of the zany community of other improbable improvisers. Her motto: Try improv. It may change your life in ways you never expected.

Carolyn currently performs with Bitter Sweet.
