From Dawn Baumgartner Vaughan:

Be on the lookout for [Horatio] Sanz beginning Thursday, when he arrives for the seventh annual Dirty South Improv Festival in Carrboro. Sanz is the featured guest performing Feb. 9 (see schedule). The festival runs through Feb. 11 and Sanz will stick around for all of it. Directors, producers, actors and comedians from across the country will convene for all things improvisational. You might see Sanz around downtown Chapel Hill, too.

"I don't like to hit and run," he said in a phone interview Monday. "We'll see what happens, who hangs out, maybe find a fun bar or restaurant. I like to enjoy it and see what the place is all about." It's his first visit here. An invitation and the chance to see some friends made him want to come to the festival. "Zach Ward (DSI executive producer and artistic director) has been MySpacing me," Sanz said. Friends from UCB will be among the DSI Festival-goers.
