In 2001, DSI produced the first NC Comedy Arts Festival (Dirty South Improv Festival) to give audiences and students at UNC Chapel Hill the chance to experience workshops in the art of Chicago-style improvisation. Now, 10 years later the festival features talent that has been seen on Saturday Night Live, MTV, Late Show with David Letterman, Comedy Central, and acts from all over the country, including veterans comedic performers from the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, IO and Second City.

The North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival (NCCAF), now the largest comedy festival in the Southern U.S. featuring improv and standup comedy, premieres two new components in 2010: Sketch Comedy and Film & Video.

To celebrate our 10th Anniversary almost ALL tickets are ONLY $10.

You should check out the schedule, decide on a couple shows, make plans, and buy tickets now. Our venues range in seating capacity from 80 to 300 and last year A Lot of our shows were Sold Out. We want to show these Acts that North Carolina can be incredibly supportive of comedy as an art form.
