Summer Comedy Camps

DSI Comedy Theater has been teaching Summer Camps across the Triangle for over 10 years. Our instructors have taught at Carolina Friends School, The ArtsCenter, and Voyager Academy in addition to running programs at our own space right in Downtown Carrboro.

DSI Summer camps are split based on Age: Youth 101 (Ages 8-10), Youth 201 (Ages 9-13), and Youth 301 (Ages 13-17). We do not split camps based on experience, so students can register for a specific level as long as they fit that age group. Our camps are small enough that every students gets personal feedback.

Youth 101 Halfday (Ages 8-10): June 28-July 2, 9:30am - 12:30pm
Youth 101 Halfday (Ages 8-10): July 26-July 30, 9:30am - 12:30pm

Youth 201 Halfday (Ages 9-13): June 28-July 2, 1:00pm - 4:00pm
Youth 201 Fullday (Ages 9-13): July 5-July 9, 9:30am - 3:30pm
Youth 201 Halfday (Ages 9-13): July 26-July 30, 1:00pm - 4:00pm

Youth 301 Fullday (Ages 13-17): June 21-June 25, 9:30am - 3:30pm
Youth 301 Fullday (Ages 13-17): August 2-August 6, 9:30am - 3:30pm

DSI classes will help students: Improve verbal ability; Enhance active listening skills; Build body awareness and Boost self-confidence. Improvisation can have a positive impact on students both on- and off-stage. By learning performance games in a safe environment, DSI students are encouraged to take risks and they develop the ability to both tell stories collaboratively and work in the moment.
