DSI Comedy Theater holds true to the philosophy that we are all involved in a process of continuous improvement and constant growth. All DSI Harold teams are provided with DSI coaches to facilitate this process, but what if you want coaching for a non-DSI team or group?

The DSI Comedy Theater offers coaching for local and out-of-town groups. If your group is looking for a short-term or long-term project, we will be able to provide you with a coach. DSI coaches are among the best in the country and have coached groups from both Canada and the U.S.

We have coached student groups across the country with our college outreach program, from NYU (Dangerbox) to Arizona State University (Farce Side), University of Southern California (2nd Nature), Loyola University in Chicago (45kings), UNC Chapel Hill, ECU (Swash), NC State (State Improv Community), University of Florida (Theatre Strike Force); the list goes on.

DSI has also worked with independent improv teams from all over the Triangle and throughout North Carolina to help them develop as a group and to foster a mindset of continuous growth and development.

Short Term Coaching

Short-term coaching is best for your group is you are looking for one of the following:

  • an outside eye to help improv scenework and group mind
  • quick diagnostics and personal assessments for individuals within a group
  • overcome roadblocks to providing teammates with critical assessments of their work

If your issue is not listed above, that's fine. Write to us and let us know what you would like assistance with from our coaching.

We can provide you with a coaching session to help improv your group mind, individual skills or even show you how to provide honest, critical and insightful feedback in a manner that fosters group harmony and allows everyone to overcome the fear of offending their teammates.

Long Term Coaching

Long-term coaching is best for groups that are looking for any combination of the following:

  • an outside eye to help improv scenework and group mind
  • extensive diagnostics and personal assessments for individuals within a group
  • overcome roadblocks to providing teammates with critical assessments of their work
  • are working on a form or show and are seeking guidance in developing the form or show

PLEASE NOTE: DSI coaching is not designed to help your group learn longform improv. If you are interested in learning longform improv, we recommend your group study with our training center to gain a thorough understanding of performance improvisation.
