Students are expected to write outside of class, preparing sketches for presentation. You must have the ability to print your sketches and bring copies for the class on a weekly basis.

Rick Skarbez

Rick began playing with DSI in January 2009 and has studied sketch and improv comedy with Zach Ward, Paula Pazderka, and Dan Sipp. He currently performs with GROUP HUG, ARMAGEDDON IT, and the 5-time Cagematch winning rap improv PUBLIC FRENEMY. In the past, he's had the great pleasure of performing in other improv shows including THE BEATBOX, CHOOSE YOUR OWN MUSICAL and DSI HIGH. He has written and performed sketch comedy with 3-time Sketch Cagematch champion BAT FANCY and DSI sketch revues DUCK WAX and BEES SMELL FEAR. He was also head writer and director of DSI's holiday sketch revue LOVE IN THE TIME OF SANTA CLAUS, and is a writer/performer for the DSI sketch revue LOCAL BUZZ.

While now a graduate student at UNC, Rick grew up in Pennsylvania and attended Penn State University, where he was (among other things) editor-in-chief of PHROTH, Penn State's 105-year-old humor magazine.
