Fundamentals of Sketch Comedy
SKETCH 101 - Fundamentals of Sketch Comedy
Sketch 101 covers writing exercises that explore different structures and sketch formats, while introducing students to the DSI philosophy on sketch comedy. Students develop an understanding of how-to approach and write sketch comedy and can expect to leave class with a portfolio of writing samples.
NO SKETCH WRITING EXPERIENCE NECESSARY
Students are expected to write outside of class, preparing sketches for presentation. You must have the ability to print your sketches and bring copies for the class on a weekly basis.
Students should have access to a computer and professional screenwriting software. We recommend Final Draft. You may also choose to use a free program such as celtx or a free online software like Zhura.
